One of my best days at a "worked out" swimming hole... (gold and silver tickets)
Was able to sneak out early this afternoon, after mowing a couple of yards. Decided to go to a local swimming area that has been in use since the early 1900's. I have worked this beach off and on for the past 10 years, and know that the former owner of the property had even went as far as to run a dredge in there looking for goodies. I also know that a couple of the guys from my club work this place quite regularly, but it just goes to show that you won't get it all.
In a matter of a few hours, I was able to pull out this...
There was one 10k ring with some small (probably zircons) in the bunch, with the other rings and the chain ringing in at .925. The dogtag is from a local school, and has a girls name on the back. I am gonna give it a shot to see if I can locate her thru the school and return it to her. It's not a classring, but to a gradeschool girl, it's close.
These are my coin finds for the day. Unfortunately, there weren't any silver coins in the bunch, the oldest being a 1965 Washington quarter. Close, but no cigar. All in all, it was a great day for a beach that has been hammered for as far as I can remember.
