This was a creek find of mine. I had the insitu but my phone broke and I had to get another and lost all my pictures. I found this one July 2020 in a creek bed when the water got low. It does have a ear nip it’s just under 3 inches long. I thought possibly a Guntersville but it’s twice the size of one. I remember when I first found it. I actually took the pictures then went home after 4 hours of nothing it was on the last place.
It’s ground slightly along the base and partly up the sides.
What is it?

I made the pictures bigger than normal to show the flaking and color. I’ve heard many different types on it but even in hand it’s hard to tell. I just call it a beauty. I found it close to where I found my Gorget but it could of washed from anywhere. Glad you like it as I do to. Maybe one day I can find another. They are selling the property out there this year and idk if I will be able to even look this year yet.

It is very nice. Reminds me a lot of a Copena Round Base. But also resembles some characteristics of an Angostura as well.

I’ve heard Copena and I’m not saying it is or isn’t but it has ears all Copena in the long form I’ve seen from examples don’t have ears. I have some Copenas I’ve found and they have a big stack and are thick. This one is thin. But we may or may not ever know. I missed the last show we are still short handed at work and I’m doing 6 days a week for now unfortunately.

Might be on the small side for the type, but I wouldn't rule out Stanfield. Good looking point.
I’ve looked at that to as a possibility, thanks
Even Page Laden fits but they claim we don’t have them in my section of the state

NW GA? Material might be Ft. Payne. Floyd Co. is loaded with the stuff. Good material. No idea of type. Generic knife form??
I’m a bit north of Floyd near Rome GA. One hour east of Alabama and 1.5 hours south of Tennessee but I fall into the Tennessee Valley region

I flew into Rome many times, on my way to Cedartown. Am familiar with the landscape.
I like the drive to Cedartown you pass some nice looking fields. I’ve never asked to walk them but maybe one day I will. This area is growing really fast and I need to venture out

Whatever it is, that is one beautiful point! Congratulations! Thanks for posting and sharing.

Glad you like it. I’ve been fortunate enough to find some nice points but like everyone else I find mostly pooters
