I found this about an year ago and finally figured how to post pictures ,Victorian no??? ??? Has anyone got an idea of what type buckle this maybe????? I posted it earlier no replies I was told the buckle is not Victorian and made of copper or brass. The polished stone is beautiful . This was recovered on private property with permission beside an old slave house beside a spring . I never could find the other half and the buckle has ram heads on the stone collar. Also on this site the confederates camped.vanzutphen

Looks early 1900s to me

I agree. I have never seen one like it and I specialize in 1849-1865 relics. I would say late 1800's to early 1900's.

No bug at all and the front is rough very dark compared to the back of the stone that is white with a brown streak threw it. The property was settled in 1793 and the house was remodeled in 1801 and the owner had two slaves man and women . From 1874 to 1927 no one lived there at all until someone else purchased the site.vanzutphen

No one lived there, but this piece got there somehow after 1874, because there is no way its older.

Your guess is as good as mine not a sermon just a thought...zutphen
