Here is a find from a few weeks to a month ago... I was riding by some farm land where I live an seen people working on the 1/2 mile lane to the house.. I been wanting to detect this place for months, but it was up for sale an the Realtor doesn't like people detecting his properties an I couldn't find who own the land at the time... anyways I stop an asked one of the guys working if he knew who owns the land..he replies yeah here comes the new owner up the lane in this white truck.. So the guy comes up by me an I motion to stop 1 min. he must be Italian an he reminded me of some one from Sopranos... Anyways I asked him does he mind me detecting down by his house..with no problem at all he said sure go ahead.. I thank him like 100 times an said I'll be back around 6pm tonight..cause I didn't want to interrupt the guys working on his lane... 5:45pm rolls around an I drive over to this guys house, When I get there he is on his porch an calls me over an lays down some common sense rules like stay out of the buildings an such... I assured him that I was brought up to respect peoples property an that I will stay out of his buildings...then his wife shows up in a rage over something an then he tells me I can only let you detect tonight only.. what a bummer!! I had 3 acres around the house to do in like 2 1/2-3hrs so needless to say I skipped alot of iffy/iron foil signals.. but what I finally found right be4 I left was well worth the trip over there!!!

That sucks to hear about the one-time deal. You still were able to excavate a beautiful 1817 largie during that time, though.

yeah Kyle it's even better looking since I cleaned the dirt off of it..I forgot to mention in my first post it was less then 2inches under the dirt...

I found an 1818 Coronet earlier this year that is also in great condition. It, too, was only 2 inches deep.

Kyle,I found about 9 large cents this year from 2 different sites an for some reason most of them have been 1817 13 stars

Congrats on that one! It's truly a shame it was a one time deal, but it is better than no deal at all!

True Ricardo, I wish I could do one more full day there, but he was kind enough to let me do it once so I can't complain...

That is cool! At least you got in there for a little while!

I wish large cents were more common here in the west. I only have one a 1847 which happens to be a very important year for Utah. Congrats on the great hunt. Good luck on getting more permissions.

Nice coin...I edited the photo for you
