While scouting out a new metal detecting site I spotted an old creekbed and couldnt resist a quick walk through the woods. Tons of flint everywhere make it difficult to pick out any points but I did find one small broken point. Its only a little over 1 inch long. Not bad for just a few min hunting. I will check the area out again once everything has died down some.

Have fun!

Alan

Hey nice point no matter what - I have never found one 100% intact myself - always have at least a chip out somewhere. :'(

Your point is not just "broken" but the original owner (or someone)apparently re-worked it, look at the small chipping along the broken edge on both sides - he or she must have tried to re-sharpen and shape it so it could be re-used; so it is likely your point was "fired" at some game! 8) Neat find, heck it always makes MY day to find any point, even a chipped or broken one. (Actually found ONE today myself, may post it here as I have NOT identified it yet.) Congrats to you, good luck and good hunting! ;)

Neat little point Oberkill! I'm going to need you to bring that to the show on the 21st. I'll be displaying and selling there so all you have to do is look for me and we can finally meet in person.
