Peggy and I went out on Monday afternoon after the heavy rains of the weekend (we got 5.47 inches over the weekend)
Within a few steps into a plowed field Peggy yelled out and ran this over to me... I nice little bird point... Broken tip... but I think a great find. :)

I think this might be a Clovis???? Paleo????

Let me know what you guys say it is...
Peggy is finding more and more good stuff.

Looks like a Madison Triangle to me. Nice find.

How can you tell...???? Not arguing just so new to all this. I looked it up in an old
American Indian Arrowheads first edition by John Stivers. It looked Clovis to me, but I can see why you say Madison. They are both in this area... but thousands of years apart.
Can you point out anything that I need to look at to make a more accurate ID?
Thanks for your ID...
Ralph & Peggy

Great great find on the triangular. Steve said Madison triangular and he is probably right. In your area which I think is kinda close to mine look up some of the other triangulars to rule them out. Look up hamilton and you will see the shape iof yours is not pointed enough. Guntersville will also be a very close match but usually a little longer. Sand mtn is more like a hamilton or say fort ancient.
The curve of the base the size and high quality workmanship leads me to beleive he is correct.
They are great points.
Ok here are some diffrent bases you will see in your area.
first two madisons
3rd Hamilton
4th fort ancient
5th jacks reef pentagonal
6th bottom Copena
Reminds me I have some I need I.D's on myself. Around here so much is tough to I.D. This forum helps a lot.
I hope this helps you all some
