Went back to the farm field site I found the Indian head and the toasted large cent.
Man, 4 and a half hours of searching what was an active farm field from the 1890's-1950 approx.
Scored one keeper there. I am grateful, but man am I sore.

One of the wheats was a '35. I am surprised they are in that good of condition.
Found a lot of the usual junk, most of it I disposed when I got home.
I did find a harrow disc but just chucked that down a woodchuck hole along with some other scrap. :laughing7:

Conversely, got out over the weekend, and went to what was a honey hole for me a few years back.
Just a public grove area that I scored many a silver before.
I decided to take a walk around after finding hardly anything for an hour and a half.
While I was retracing my steps hoping for lightning to strike twice, I noticed an area of the park that was usually
all wild rose, briar, and brush now partially to mostly cleaned out.
I was like God heard my prayers!
Unfortunately, I could only muster up 2 wheats out of this area (nothing older) and I was digging like a mad man (if anyone could have seen me).
Could not believe it. I really could not believe it. I dug so many merc, buffalo's, and other silvers before in that proximity.
But, I will give my vote to that as the "funner" of the two hunts.
Here is the pic:

IF only that charm chain was silver. :BangHead:
Oh well.

HH all and good luck!

Just about any old farm field will have some random farmer drops even if they don't have an old house site.
