One Hour Scout Hunt=Bullets

Found these today scouting a field on a new permission. I only had an hour so just searched about 4 rows of a 150 plus acre field. The field is very near a CW battle but I'm not sure if these came from that or not. I'm guessing .54 or .56 cal?

Anyone know the type?

Clueless on bullet types but, the patina says OLD so I'd say mission accomplished on finding some old dirt to swing. Nice scouting hunt mate.:icon_thumright:

Show us the bottom. Flat or concave?

That's a lot of lead for a one hour scout hunt. Your pouch is gonna be heavy if you put a full day in at that site.

Haven't cleaned too much but here ya go Tom...IMG_20171130_180808[1].jpg

The patina looks right, but they don’t look like the ones I’m used to seeing. There are a lot of variants, and I am by no means an expert.

Nice finds either way and hopefully the new spot coughs up some goodies.

Nice lead and a very good site your on! Keep doing the rows, buttons may be next or more. Good luck!

They are NOT the ones I'm used to seeing either. No 3 ringer .58 like normal. After some searching online I am guessing .54-.56 cal.? The closest ones I can find are labeled "Confederate" pistol/revolver bullets, BUT, I have no clue as of yet. Thanks.

Nice lead!! I'll trade You a back-hoe!!

Looks like you have found a place that will keep you swinging and digging for quite a while. Good job!
