So.. today after hosted a party for my 11 year old... I had to get away for a little quiet time... the first thing I dug was a.... Rhode Island button!!!!! I laughed out loud when I saw what it was having just looked at my Dad's yesterday. This was dug miles form where he dug his,,, I was with him when he dug it... the picture does not do it justice it is in great shape.. backbark is F.F. Hassem Boston... a Civil War period button.. It has been a great button month for me.. a great Virginia button attributed to the town I live in.. the Georgia button form my Dad's collection and today's RI!!!..
oh.. I alos dug a button back.. a smashed trigger guard, a sportsman's button face with a pelician, a piece of lead that looks like it was used to hold flint and a 1916 barber Quarter that is pretty wasted.. all and all... pretty good hour and a half!!!
