As the title says... I beleive the one on the right is pyrite and the one on the left is gold there is a color difference idk if you can see in the photo but the one on the left is more of a dark coppery tan and the left more yellow I'm just not sure sorry I'm such a noob
Color is NOT the indicator of gold. That can change based on what other metals are mixed with it. Lay them on a hard surface and stick a needle in them (if you can). Soft = gold; hard (breaks or shatters) = pyrite.
no gold is very soft , will not break like that,no matter how small, i have seen gold brassy , or coppery , you can get gold that is (pale) gold ,and also if in historic mining area you can have gold bonded with merc, sometimes dont look like gold at all. hh.
As was said gold won't break. It is so mallable the gold meuseum in Houston took one oz of gold and hammered it out to cover the walls of a room 4'x4'x10' inside and out. Incredible! And the colr can be different depending on area. Welcome to the forum.
