Got a permission at a 1887 home that of course, was hit by others in the past. Managed two 1942 mercs, 6 wheats, a cool fob and a few other odds and ends. Thanks for looking and hh!

Good stuff. I do a lot of clean up after others also. I have found a few virgin sites over the years, but not many and they tend to not be on any maps.

Most people have no idea how hard all the spots were by the guys with shovels, screens, and detectors back in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. I always chuckle when I see a "virgin spot" post. There's always some deeper targets and items revealed by ground shifting, but most of it is the leftovers of leftovers.

lol I think my post title is misleading, this was at a house. I do a lot of door-knocking and only once or twice I've been on places that weren't hit before

Its all in how you look at it, I've always figured that I've found "virgin" ground every time I dig up something "good".

The item was still there when I got there....sooooo....virgin.....*spot*!

Congrats on cleaning up the remnants and nice old fob! I've been lucky to have found 2 virgin sites this year - and yes - they're virgin - 30 large cents and about 100 buttons. So yes - they're still out there and a few have your name on them I'm sure of it!

thanks man! I found a virgin early 1800s homesite in a cornfield 5 years ago, similar results. About 15 large cents, 2 2 cent pieces, well over 100 buttons, and other cool relics. That was a great place!

Virgin or not you scored Cjon, that's all that matters. Just remember a bad day detecting is far better than a day at work. I am amazed at what I pull from a site even after I gridded it a couple times.
