Born2MD

yeah i was detecting where there had been 3 fires . 2 buildings burned in the mid to late 1800's & the last fire was in may of 1914. they never built anything else on that lot. i detected many things in that lot. old coins -1894 quarter-1892 dime-1898 penny - 1 old gold ring half melted & alot of gold &copper melted together. a few tokens & old bottles.

Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Very nice badge. I wonder what the history behind it is.

Nice finds!

Lots of nice stuff. I've been to Rocklin many times and never stopped to detect. Sheesh.

Very nice variety of things and .... Nice haul.

The bottle on the left appears to be a Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce bottle. Is that what it is? Nice to find the stopper with it. WTG

thanks all you fellow diggers! its good to know there are some folks out there with the same passion i have. ;) yes that is a lea&perrins bottle also a blue bromo & a " Mrs. Winslows Soothing Syrup" bottle found on accident about 2 feet down. you can just dig around on that lot & your gonna find somethin old! Happy Hunting & Happy New Year!!! (oh yeah - 1843 dime - my oldest coin i dug there also)

I hope you don't mind me asking all these questions but I'm in the learning stage. How did you find out about the buildings in the first place and how did you find out about the fire???

Born2MD

hi born2md- its a well known fact to the locals that the town of rocklin burned down 3 times. so i looked up the history of rocklin on the net & bam -there it was! also my ex girl friend lived 2 doors down from that old lot on what used to be the main street.

Nice digs you got there.Looks like you got a great site, might want to make a sifter to use there, since your digging down so deep anyway.A spot like that could keep you busy for months on end! Welcome to the Treasurenet forum,if your like the rest of us,you'll be hooked on this site too! :) Good luck and H.H.-looking forward to your posts.
