Walked out of the Grocery store, as always with my head down looking at the ground. Have found many Cubic's there, This time it was different. It's a one carat Diamond. Tested it, and it's real. I'll never look up again when I leave the grocery store. Who know there might be another one there somewhere.

Update: Took to jeweler, and he said the diamond was a 1.5 carat, and at a low end price without a written appraisial would be 2000.00 dollars. If appraised it would go higher for a retail price. Cost 50.00 dollars to get an appraisal. Maybe later.......

hows this for weird - at about the exact time you were posting this - I was telling a guy at work a story of an old woman losing her diamond out of her ring at a grocery store (in Ma.) the store had a clerk with down sydrome (they are known for hiring people with mental handicaps to help them out in the world)
so he hears people talking about it and goes out into the parking lot to collect carts all the while looking up and down the parking lot for her diamond - after 2 hrs he finds it - they call the woman - she comes in and they tell her that Joey spent a long time looking and found her diamond - they put it in her hand - she says "Thats great" and walks out - The manager cant believe she didnt thank him if not give him a reward for his good deed - Joey looks confused like he did something wrong - luckily the manager thought fast and gave the head cashier a $20 and said put it in an envelope and tell joey it was from old woman as a thankyou - It made Joey real happy
just thought it was cool that I was telling this story before I even saw you post - and when i saw your post I called co-worker over and showed him and said "what were we talking about earlier about the lost diamond" - this guy posted this at around the same time we were talkin bout it

I always look at the ground when walking thru parking lots - have found gold earings - chains - a silver pil case and once found a platinum diamond ring that had been run over a hundred times and thought it was a kids junk ring it was so beat up - got $750 for it
keep on eye balling :icon_thumleft:

Wow. Nice lady.

That's an awesome find!

I'll add a ring story to the mix that is almost unbelieveable.

I have a friend who went to the grocery store a few months back, and lost his wedding ring while he was putting his grocery's in the car. His wife was pissed, and so was he. Well, just so happens he was back at the store over a MONTH later, looks down as he's walking into the store, and FINDS the ring!

If I didn't know him well, I would have said he was a liar, but that is AMAZING. Over a month and he just so happens to find it. LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY.

Update added to the post....

:icon_thumleft:Boyce, you always find the coolest stuff.:icon_thumright:

I just couldn't help myself. One day I'm going to get runover watching my feet, and not watching where I'm going.

Parking lot finds are fun! The little coin tray in my car is nearly full with small change that I've picked up in parking lots. One worthless ear ring too. Best area to eyeball is around those small grassy islands. Seems people getting in and out of cars and stepping up on that raised curb are off balance. Meaning they are apt to drop stuff. I've watched harried soccer moms drive off with a purse on top of the car too.

Serves her right to lose it-spending that much money on a diamond for a ring (image what the whole thing cost?).....ugh!

Great find!

Great find!

My mental image is that "sugar daddy" paid for the ring. Probably already replaced with a larger one.

I have limited knowledge about expensive jewelry, but is it possible that diamond was just one in a row of diamonds in a "dinner ring"? Boggles my mind to see the "ice" that is displayed on shopping trips. That and sword-length fingernails.

I'd rather it be a sugar daddy than some poor naive schmuck who thought it was the key to the land of plenty. Ugh-the nails with all of the little sparkly crap....errrggghhh!
