Is "boobies" lewd or obscene? Does it disrupt the school? I recently read that some schools cracked down on kids quoting the GEICO "hump day" commercial.

Where the right place to draw the line? Most of the time, that decision appears to be influenced by whether or not the person making the call agrees with the message.

It appears this school board is a bit slow on the uptake. They continue to fight long after they have lost.

"An attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union, which helped the girls challenge the rule, said Tuesday night the school had been hinting that it would petition the Supreme Court.

“'I’m just really surprised that they’re so determined to fight this speech case of all speech cases,' said Mary Catherine Roper. '(The bracelets) didn’t cause any problems in the school.'

"The lone board member to vote against the appeal said the district should just drop the matter. 'I think we should be done with it. Let it go. We lost 20, 30 times, I don’t even know anymore,' Frank Pintabone said."

The way people are being told how to think, what to say, how to act, what is proper and what isn't, what to eat, what to wear, etc., etc., etc. all has to do with freedoms and rights. Freedoms and rights are guaranteed by the constitution and its amendments. To assault ANY of these rights or freedoms puts ALL of the others in jeopardy. If the preservation of one of these rights is in question, although the word "gun" isn't involved, our future ability to bear arms would also be threatened. One freedom at a time, one at a time and eventually you are left with nothing.

The way I see it is if the schools can teach homosexuality (in elementary school mind you)and have gay pride days once a week I see nothing wrong wearing a bracelet with a slang word for breasts on it.Give me break,bunch of self righteous ,please fill in the blank_________

Wow JB are you serious? The left has shoved this issue on every kid in middle school through high school and now they are trying to teach it in elementary school. You might want to start reading and or watching something besides MSNBC. < - - That's not meant to be hurtful, I am trying to open your eyes just a bit.

Gay history is now a requirement in California public schools because of a new state law that says the contributions of gays and lesbians must be included in social studies instruction. Now teachers are figuring out how to incorporate the new material into their classes.

Seriously, WTF!!!!!!
My daughters school last year and every other school in grades 7-12 sold them with no problems and kids here wear them without any fuss.
It's directed towards young people because it actually gets them aware of the issue.
Anyone in Europe reading that article I'm sure is laughing and shaking their heads at this issue in total disbelief. I am, and I'm from Canada.
