As it seems to happen often with other MDers, on the way back to the truck on Saturday I found a coin that was on my bucket list, an 1865 2 cent piece. I also found one Wheat penny, and a Great Seal button that is not very old. I was almost to the truck when I got a good signal that was deep and figured just another piece of aluminum trash when the 2 center popped out. First one for me in 40 IMG_0001 (2).JPGIMG_0002 (2).JPGIMG_0003.JPG plus years of detecting. I am very happy and thankful, because this thing looked like toast until I got it home and used Andre's pencils on it. After 3 hours of digging trash this was very welcome. Happy hunting and thanks for looking.

Big congratulations! :occasion14:

Always nice to find big silver. Congrads!

Your button dates 1902-1910. Can you read the backmark?

I believe it is junk. The back was iron and is rusted away. Most of the Great seal buttons I have dug are 2 piece with brass backs.
