Had a couple of hours this afternoon, on a very small pasture field. A few years ago this field was ploughed, and gave up a few nice finds. The best being a rare groat of Richard 11, and a silver Tudor whistle. Over the years since though, signals have become practically nil. The only area left to search was right up against the fence (as near as I could get to the metal fence). I did find four coins, the oldest a George 11. All in all, a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

Wow, do you have a picture of that Groat!?

Yes digging any coins is worth it, & some of those edges can pop up some real good urns.
