Hi everyone,

Went out hunting and came across some items that I would like help on dating and Id'ing. The first is a can opener of Cast Iron. It has writing on the back but I can't make it out quite yet. It is 3" x 1/2" at center. I have found similar ones dating back to 1900. This also jives with the date of the Mill and farm that used to be on property.

The second one is what we first thought to be a buckle but, upon cleaning it we found 3 nail holes with one still attached. No writting as of yet but a very nice waffle print on the front. On studying it while typing this I am leaning towards a gate pull or shutter bracket. It is almost 2" side to side x 2" top to bottom.

The third is a plate that is iron also and is 9 x 9 and white no writting that I can see.

Thanks to any one who replies.

HH,

Second item with the heart shaped hole in it is a heel plate. From the mid-late 1800's Here's one that I found last year.

Thanks guys,

I am really sorry I meant to put that I put a dime on the plate. Teach me to post while the kids are screaming at each other :D.

all three solved -- a combo can punch (one end) bottle top opener(other end) late 1800's to early 1900 -- a heart design type heel plate ( 1850 to mid say 1900) and a metal plate to eat off ( hard to say --1850 to 1900) -- these are rough guesses of course. Ivan
