Well you guys and gals aren't going to believe me..I dug another Silver this morning. Once again I took my 2 yr old son along for the ride. Brought his Tonka truck to play with. Stayed out for about 45 minutes. Didn't find much but then...Had a loud signal. In the High 70's low 80's on my F75..It blew my headphones off. I dug down about 5 inches and out of the plug falls this baby...A 1915 Barber Dime..No Mintmark. I was at a Golf course..I let out a holler that ended up getting the course pro called on me. He didn't say anything bad to me, just brought my son a golf club and a couple of golf balls to hit. I got the point though. Anyway..Hope yall enjoy the pics. I dug that Rosey yesterday and this barber today. I am going back this afternoon, without my good luck charm. If I don't come back with Silver he will be with me everytime I dig. This is my First Barber Dime.

Congrats on that fine piece of silver there.

Way to go! After reading your post about the colonial home you hunter I assumed you were a seasoned veteran and had dozens if not hundreds of each type of silver to your credit. Now I see you are just a rookie like me with only a single barber thus far. I have ya beat on age(1907) but I gouged the heck out of the back so its not as pretty as yours. Congrats on a great coin and hope to see more from you soon.

Nah man. I only been really hunting for about a year and a half. Used to do it when I was a kid, but nothing like now. Ha Ha...

Listen to this.. I went back this evening for awhile...I dug a 1912 V nickel...IT IS MINT MARKED>>>LOOKS LIKE AN S>>>I am having a heck of a time with it...It has a red light rust all over it...It looks like it has good detail under this crude..I used naval jelly to id it...It looks decent ...What is the best way to get this stuff off...ALSO...I dug a Sterling Silver Match Box...WITH THE MATCHES STILL IN IT>>>It was deep about 8 inches down...I will post a pic up in just a second of the finds...Someone hip me up on how to clean this V nickel...

I have thumbed through the cleaning section and it seems that white vinegar and salt is good on nickles. Yet to try it myself but it seems to do them justice. Look over there for more info on it, theres a few posts discussing nickle cleaning. I have not found enough old nickles to try it myself, so congrats on a nice oldie! The match case looks awesome!
