Last Friday I got out just to dig anything after being shut down to to the bitter cold that barreled in to my area here in Kansas, and even though I had to deal with some very frozen ground I was still lucky enough to come across a shallow find that has the makings of one of those shocking and life changing moments we all hope for.
My first 22k ring.

The next day, Saturday, I went back to the same area in that public park hoping for lightning to strike again but that time just a few coins showed up.
Still ok, just getting out and digging in pleasant weather is the real goal right now...frozen soil or not.
Yesterday I changed it up a bit and went to another park with the same mindset, just enjoy the weather and dig what I could in the 3" or so of dirt that was unfrozen.
In a very large wide open area it seemed like a little dark cloud opened up over me and that little cloud had a lightning bolt in there too because I was lucky enough in that huge area to get my small coil over this thing..and I had my wits about me enough to dig it.
Actually I had to, that 22k ring was a 41 tab on the F70 which was definitely a trash signal but this one was a very solid 31-32 nickel all the way and who passes over nickels?
Not me.
However when I opened the hole I did not find a nickel I am happy to say.
6.2 grams of 10k white and yellow gold with 3 little sparkling rocks.
The 4th channel ring with this design I have found but the combination of that white and yellow gold makes it one of the better looking ones.
Both rings were at about 2" deep, both were solid signals from all direction, both were big surprises as gold always is to me.
I usually average about 1 gold ring every 1.5-2 months so finding 2 within 3 days will really wreck the curve for this year but that's just fine with me!
