?? on 1 LB.+ medallion with flags of China & Japan "I can't read it"

This is an item I picked up at a thrift store. It weights 1lb. 1.8oz (504 grams) It measures 3-9/16" (9cm) in diameter. It looks to be a nickle plated medal of some kind as some of the plating has flaked off and it is only slightly magnetic and the magnet will not stay stuck to it. I think is a paper weight that commemorates some event between China & Japan. Maybe Yang can shed a little light on what this medallion signifies?

Fuji is what I was thinking and with the Forbidden City I think represents two iconic images of each country. I'm sure it represent some event between the two countries, but I've no clue what?

This link is in more English http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty...ween_Japan_and_the_People's_Republic_of_China ...Interesting!.. The treaty ultimately consisted of five articles, and was strongly opposed by the Soviet Union.

I'm happy to see you found the english link to the peace treaty coin. Here in China it's difficult to access english websites such as google to help in searches. I do have a VPN but it still is not easy. I won't go into details on that. Happy treasure hunting and I hope to help in the future 88 for now. (in chinese 88 means baba which sounds like byebye)
