Mystery solved.....

According to The Old Farmer's Almanac....that was a Full Beaver Moon.

But alas...a new mystery.....why is it called a full "Beaver" moon?

We're waiting Gypsy Mystery ;)

Glad you asked Wes!
Full Beaver Moon - November This was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Full Beaver Moon comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for winter. It is sometimes also referred to as the Frosty Moon.
So all you guys that dont have your beaver Traps set for winter....better get busy! ;)

>:( My "trap" keeps coming up empty!

I knew you'd have the answer Gypsy Mystery; couldn't find an explanation for the full moon names in the Almanac and hadn't gotten around to doing a search on line yet. :-*

A frosty moon is when its 32 degrees outside and you grab your pants and.....well you get the picture. :D....aa

I am glad you cleared that up about the full beaver moon.
because i had something completely different in mind on what a full moon beaver was.

Now that you have cleared it up ill go wash my mouth out with soap.

I went out detecting on a trail in the woods this morning
and when i turned around this is what i saw.
good thing i had my cam..
Either they want my detector or they are fallowing me. :-\

Well this seems like a good place to ask: At weddings, swans are often found adorning the cake, as swans have one mate for life. But so do beavers, so why aren't they shown the same respects in these events?

Any wedding with an unlimited open bar will usually have a beaver display nhbenz. It usually doesn't come out until later though.
