CHECK THIS OUT. TRUE STORY.

A New York man retired.

He wanted to use his retirement money wisely, so it would last, and decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal.

The modest farmhouse had been vacant for 15yrs.; the original owner and wife both had died, and there were no heirs.

The house was sold to pay taxes.

There had been several lookers, but the large barn had steel doors, and they had been welded shut.

Nobody wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn, and it wasn't complimentary to
the property anyway......so, nobody made an offer on the place.

The NY guy bought it at just over half of the property's worth, moved in, and set about to tear into the barn.......curiosity was killing him.

So, he and his wife bought a generator, and a couple of grinders.......and cut thru the welds.

What was in the barn...............?

WOW! I wonder if they were hot or not? That gotta be a few million in classics and collectibles.

Man that's alot of cars. I wonder how the guys that passed on buying the place feel now.

Did you have to rain on my parade? ;D It sure sounded good. Maybe next time.

lol finder...sorry...but at least we got to look at some really nice old cars......
And my Car painter sent me that. Grrrrr. Well here's my car in my garage, for real.. 72' Charger

Very nice finder...brings back some good memories...my friend had one, emphasis on "had"..... ;D

that would have been the find of a life time.

You wonder how many of the "great" treasure finds are like this. Just takes on a life of it's own and regardless of the facts, people still think there has been a great find. I would be willing to bet that the REAL big finds never sees the light of day. For instance, I good trusted friend of mine saw the Confederate "Last Chance" Gold, removed from the ground. He helped unbend the iron bars holding the stack together. He watched gold brick by gold brick go into the back of a truck. Have you ever heard that this famous treasure was found. You won't see any magazine articles or headlines. The owner slowly sold it off and told nobody. Sad though because the historical value was the real value of the find. Not the gold. That's just metal. If we had laws in this country where the government would pay you the appraised value of a good find so they could keep it, the Confederate gold would be in a museum somewhere in Georgia. Not living it's life as 5000 14k rings.

I'll agree with you on that one Daryl, I happen to know of another found many years ago in the Arizona desert. "The tax man cometh, and the Tax man taketh away".

Hard to believe how any one could be fooled by this. That structure is not a barn its a warehouse. Someone selling the property without checking the contents of a building this size should be next to impossible to buy into but obviously many have.
