omg I can't believe it!!!

I was checking my junk iron and sifting through the heavy stuff and I saw what I thought was a piece of metal from a Mason jar. When I found it that's what I thought so I just threw it in the junk. But when I was checking it out today I noticed it and realized the other side had an eagle!!! Score!!!! I'm so excited. Always double check your finds!!

It's an Eagle breast plate, like on the chest of this Civil War soldier

Cool find,greetings from up the road in Magnolia,Braggs rebel army came right up 31E in 1862 and camped over here in Hodgenville. Buells union troops moved up 31W on to Louisville,they both met that fall in Perryville. There was a lot of activity around this area,the fields are littered with treasures we can only guess at.
