Hi All,
We just purchased our kit from OM Online Magets. As per instructions we have used Thread Lock on the eye bolt.
They next recommended that you use a Palomar Knot to fasten the rope to the eyebolt, as the carabiner is for securing the rope.
However the other end on the supplied rope as been secured like a dog lead handle (see attached photo) . Which makes it impossible to use a Palomar Knot. On a FB group, someone purchased a similar rig and lost the magnet in the river. I’m guessing he used the carabiner to secure to the eyebolt and the rope pulled through.
What do you suggest please? We did purchase two magnets, but only one rope, what rope would you recommend please?
