Oldest Poster still kickin.

Currently, my post is the first on the CRH forum. I guess I win! I used to do pennies a lot (limited cash) when the metal detecting season was over, but then I moved into looking for silver coins and I really became a CRH'er. I only post my finds monthly, but I read every post here

Very impressive! I wish I wouldve started CRH back then. Ugh, Im getting sick, going to puke now thinking about the possibilities and missed opportunity.

Wowser !

That didn't take long.

Give us a story now and then, Goldencoin !

We could all profit from hearing it.

Keep on Rollin' !

I'm not a big time player, no bank will order me boxes and they're no coin counting machines. But I've got some good stories

I remember when CRH'ing swept treasurenet. I never thought they would still be collectable coins in circulation, nor would banks hand out that many coins. Eventually, so many people were posting on today's finds, that the admins made the forum and moved the posts there. I didn't introduce it, but I was on the bandwagon early

I remember GC when i first started posting here and that was back in 2006. I think many of the old timers are just lurking now.

What do you think is the reason?

--don't like the trend of comments?
--don't like giving away info?
--want their privacy?

I can't speak for anyone else but for me it's just the lack of new things to post about. Still like to read about what others find and enjoy the newer CHRers enthusiasm. Reminds me of when I started.

I've been on almost a year and a half, and although a small time CRH, I feel like a Vet with all the newbies lately. Silvercop and Rich H stick out from when i first started lurking.

Hey IMMY !

Great to meet ya !

Glad you are not gone for good.

Keep on Rollin' !

I can also remember before there was a CRH forum. I used to lurk so to speak on the main finds forum, mainly looking for tips on how to use my XLT detector. I guess this was back in 2003-2004 or so. I had been CRHing pretty heavily those days as well and was on another forum that had a few other CRHers. Finally joined here in early 2007 and the rest is history.

Hey Piledriver and anyone I haven't met formally.

*sigh* Yeah, those were the days. Casinos still had coins, banks didn't charge for boxes and the cage manager at the casino where I worked would save silver for me. :icon_thumleft:

I joined just about when CRH got its own forum but :lurk: now mostly. Love the enthusiasm of newbies but it's very clear which ones are in it for profit only, not that there's anything wrong with that. Most still seem to be having fun though.

The most noticeable difference between now and then is the inclusion of dimes. You look at the earliest posts and you'll see few if any people searching them.

Never thought I'd retire from the hobby but the truth is there's a lot of satisfaction to be had reading these stories.

Keep it up and HH!
