when looking prices up for another person make sure you read the items description an compare the condition between the 2 items (one online an the poster's item) the price given for this is for a Mint in Box.... since the poster's item is broken I would be surprised if he could get 25-30.00 ...

I did a reality check of my own. The last completed listing in this condition got $55 on EBay. I appreciate any and all comments and usually gain a little from each one. The Rubylane post let me know the stencils or pattern animal pieces were missing from mine. All and all a pretty cool toy now posted on EBay with an opening bid and several watchers.

First, I never said a price ... just worth some $$$.

Second, if you checked the last picture in the above link, they quote O'Briens 12th Edition as stating it is rare and valued at $850.00 without the box. Yes, the one shown/listed is in mint condition, with the stencils and has the box.

I'm sure jnkhntr could make a reasonable decision as to the worth of his, in its condition, vs. one mint and in the box. Anything over the $7.00 he paid is $$$.

You didn't have to say it you posted a link with a price an everyone assumes that is the price... his isn't working an missing peice there is no way that it would be anywhere near that price when resold... jnkhuntr already said that one like his sold for 55.00 on ebay... an about people making reasonable dicision.. Many assume a price on a link or give is the price there item is worth.. they don't understand that condition is what makes the price most think the age makes the price..

Looks like you have a great start out of the gate. Going to watch your auction to see how it goes for you.

I won't go on a feebay rant, but must say I had a very poor results night. The steam engine went unsold after one with a cork in the stack sold last week for near my start price. The tin Teddy sold to a buyer in Sweden after I stated US shipping only so I am canceling that sale.
I guess sometimes you sell the Teddy and sometimes____________? I had to stop shipping internationally because ebay leaves me so vulnerable if someone "claims" they didn't receive an item.

The price of the bear surprised me.. I already posted around what something like that should go for... your steam engine you should just put what you want for it in a reserve an start at 9.99 it would also help if you could have a pic or video of it working

Another thing you could try is relisting your steam engine with a crazy high "buy it now" price and write "offers accepted". Someone may make a decent offer on it that is more than you would put as your reserve. My mom has done this and has had good results. I personally have had nothing to sell worth to much to try it. Just a suggestion. Did you put a second chance offer to your next highest bidder? That stinks when that happens! Just my 2 cents....

I'm pretty sure it is now against Ebay rules to just write you will take offers... you must have make offer option on your auction...

Sorry, that's what I meant-- Make offer button.

You might check out the buyer in Sweden. I have shipped to Canada, England, Japan and now France. I just had a guy in the US bid for a guy in France. He wanted me to ship to France and have his friend pay. I said no, I will ship it to you and by the way what is your friends email, feebay user ID and paypal act?

We got in touch and I ended up letting him pay me direct and I shipped it to France. I had free shipping in the US and actual charges for other countries. I surprised him and paid half of the shipping (Still less than I would have paid in the US.) It worked out great for both of us.
I asked why he didn't email me and he said he saw the auction just before it closed.

The oversize item going to Japan was less than the shipping was. But the person wanted it anyway.
After these experiences I added some other countries. They really ran the auctions up.
