I was in the woods today, hunting some new ground. This was off the beaten path and took us over an hour to walk in. I won't be going back again without an ATV. It didn't give me much time to hunt before work.

Things look so close on Google Earth!

The guy I was hunting with scored a US 2 Cent Piece that he was too scared to clean (pics next time), and I scored a NB Half Penny coin spill and a wicked Artillery button.

I have found many military buttons, but never one in the middle of the woods. I believe this one is older than my other buttons. Hopefully the experts can chime in for me.

Some sort of early Backpack clip?

Copper Spill - Two of them are stuck together. :)

Very nice finds. Congrats.

Awesome hunt bro! That button is killer! are you going to break the two coins apart, or leave them the way they are?

I'll pop them into peroxide and see what happens. I'd like to see the detail on the inside, I won't lie. :)

Cool spill, I like the coin sandwich, I might be tempted to leave it together, esp. if you ID them from their respective single side ?

The button I think is 1840-1855

Right on, thanks Rick! :)

The hook is part of a horse gear set up.

The hook could be a sword hanger. Rather on the large side....but it very well could be.

Gio you're a monster out there. Leave some for the rest of us brother :-) Seriously you have really been killing it lately. Great job

Sweet finds...I'd be working on separating those coins...could be some decent detail if they've been stuck together since lost.

Great button as well!

If you want to sell it on ebay, that is exactly what it is.:laughing7:

That looks like it was worth the walk! Does kind of sap some of the energy used for hunting, especially when you know you have to walk out. I'd be trying to get those coins apart as well!
