if the crucifix is sterling silver prob austrian crystal
if plated prob cubic zircon,could be a crucifix from a rosary
 

It's normally called 'paste' or diamante which simulated a diamond & was made from rock crystal, but from the 19th C they made it from crystal glass or polymers like acrylic.
 

design looks modern - chain should be out there
go back and spiral slowly out from where you found it

'Paste' was never made from rock crystal. It's the term for a particular leaded glass, first developed in 1724. 'Diamante' covers a multitude of sins, both glass and crystal. See my reply on the other thread:
