Hit a "hunted out park" after work this evening. I was working an area that has been run over many times by detectorists. I ran into a really weird signal. It was high, low and blanking out with iron. Pinpointing didn't seem to help, so I decided to dig. The first thing I saw when I pulled out the plug was a rusty nail. I decided to probe it anyway, and there was good noise everywhere. About 10 minutes later, I pulled the last coin. 8 coins in total. Oldest to Newest: 1934d Merc, 1937, 1941, 1946 Nickel, 1950, 1951, 1956 and 1959d(memorial). Unlabeled coins were wheats. 25 year spread. Largest number of older coins I have found in a spill. The spoon was found nearby, and is silverplate from a company called "Imperial".
