Hi there, I found this in a box out in the garage. Not sure what this tool is called. I did a search on David Malloch & Son Perth and found that it was made between 1878-1913. Anyone got any info? Thanks. 01 sash fillester.jpg02 sash fillester.jpg03 sash fillester.jpg04 sash fillester.jpg05 sash fillester.jpg

I actually found out that this is called a sash fillester, still don't know much about the maker, quality, or what it's worth.

There is a market for collectors, your piece comes from Scotland? You may get an idea how it's worth on a english or scottish woodworking forum.

Antique Sash Fillister Plane - Garrett Wade

Do you still have the wooden box that was sold with. In teh box it doubles the value to collectors, without the box on the European market you could get about 200 Euro for it, sorry no idea what you would get in the US. If you ebay it then make sure it can be seen on European ebay sites. I have seen some of the best ones on German ebay.

Thanks Oddjob. The link you posted was helpful for me to create a description for my listing. Also, I am going to look into international Ebay. Sadly, I do not have the box that it came in.

I know some rare Stanley vintage planes can fetch some big bucks. Hope it's the case with your European plane, good luck!

Oddjob made me thought of this. There's a Stanley tool I'd like to have, it's called the "Odd job" and is very useful, my kind of tool (just to tease your curiosity). Saw it on Ebay for 140$, if you find one it's a keeper, made of brass! HH!
