I had the opportunity to hunt a property (with permission) that dates back to use from the 1930's.
An old piece of farmland adjacent a lake. The dairy farmer there used to store his milk in a spring
to keep it cold for shipment. As well, there were several families that used this "swimming hole" over
the decades as a place to cool off over the Summer months.

However, I was more interested in the "dairy spring." I had envisioned it to be a place of not only for
commercial use, but for storing summer drinks, etc. So, that was my objective.

It did have some water in it still. I imagine the tree nearby doesn't do it much good. It was rather long, and rectangular, but one could
see the moss covered stones that carved out it's sides. I had hoped and thought this was my best bet to find
anything there. I searched all about, and even through the woods for hours, especially, the paths leading to the "spring" from the farm house.
I had to set my DISC to silver and clad level, as there was just too much beer tabs and cans discarded over the years and off the adjoining road.
I dug my fair share of "junk" but this photo does not do it justice.

Let me say, I have done wood hunts before, but sawing through the old roots was painstaking. It did not help with all the moisture that caused them to be "super roots".
At times, there was so much water lakeside that I would dig the hole only to find it filling with water, as the water table was so high.
I hunted forever. At least 6 and a half hours. I think with all the decay, leave drop, and overgrowth some targets were just too deep or too difficult to reach when I did get a "digger".
But, believe me I didnt let many go!
But, I did get a couple.

I think the spirit world is speaking to me. This is the 3rd pocketwatch relic for me in less than a month.
Reminds me alot of when I used to go hunting and fishing. Alot of time in, and sometimes sparse results. Overall, I am happy with it. I envisioned a bit better, but there's my story.
Man, I will take a manicured lawn or park ground any day! (BTW, I was covered in mud at the end).
