Hi all, I found this in my yard this morning. With some help I've narrowed it down to a Winchester rimfire casing, maybe a .22 - the H for Henry. But I wonder if you know how old this is? I don't think it's financially valuable but I'm curious about the stuff I find in my yard as I live in a town that had a lot of activity during the Civil War. It seems that this would be post-civil war, but it's still curious to me because my house wasn't built until the 40s. Still could be something that a former resident had though. I think it's brass. Thanks!

Thanks! It's sandy soil - more sand than soil - maybe a former tenant was just having target practice ? ;D

Good ID. Those are some of the worst targets to recover, but I find myself digging them everytime ;D
