Glad it survived the grader and you rescued it. Looks to be 1880s or so from here.

That is awesome.

Ultra rare, as of 2002 book 12 known examples, at about $9,000 a pop... this is more than nice, guys.

Great find!

There are probably more nearby...an outhouse...well...dump.

Be careful with that crack on the bottom while cleaning it.
I’m assuming it’s a crack.

Great bottle

If that was the drink of choice of someone, there might be more of the same brand. Just don’t share them on the internet!

No crack just a small chip on the bottom edge .

No idea on the value personally, and I'm really still getting my bearings with identifying old bottles. I can tell you this is one of the coolest bottles I've seen(personally) posted in a while! I love a good old whiskey bottle anytime! Absolute great recovery! If it is 1880s as was stated I always can hardly believe glass can lay around that long and not get broken, lol. It happens though for sure, you have proof(as do I)! I hope it is worth $9k that would be amazing to say the least. I'd look into that for sure. Could be somebody poking fun(not accusing the poster of that, but it's hard too tell sometimes, lol), but more likely it's a real quote from a bottle reference book and it may well be correct. $9k is nothing to sneeze at for anybody! Love the look of it though either way, I'd love to find something similar sometime! May be even the 13th and 14th known to exist if the above post IS correct! There are certainly bottles found all the time with only a few known EXISTING examples, even new unidentified bottles popping up out of dumps etc. I hope this is a valuable find, very cool either way though. It's funny because I randomly have a bottle I found today I'm about to post right now, and your bottle post was top of the list on today's finds, lol! you ought to come check my bottle out too! Nowhere near as bad@$$ as yours though for sure lol. I'd check all around the area you found the bottle, could have been a brand loyal drinker lol. Good luck, happy and safe hunting!

I voted banner. A coin, button, or buckle that rare would already be on top.

Banner here also that's so cool what a display piece she belongs in a museum your museum lol. Great find thanks for sharing it I would be all over that site. Keep em coming. Tommy

I'm thinking this is a banner find. Paste this link into your browser.

Great display piece, congrats! :occasion14:

That is definitely one of the nicest bottles that's been on this site in a very long time.
If I was you, I would make darn sure that you keep it in a very protected location.
Wrap the crap out of it.
And if you do decide to clean, do so in a plastic tub, NOT your kitchen sink.
I don't know much about San Fran bottles, except that many are crazy rare.
Killer, killer find, and like others have said, go back and really search the area.
Kudos!
Carl
And please, if you take more photos, don't be doing it on that wooded railing!
