I am still metal detecting on the old family farm property - found this buried about 6" under the sod by a fallen apple tree. It has a very heavy cast iron frame 11 1/2" X 7" with a curved steel plow. Is the blade actually the moldboard - does the share go on to the end? I know these are hard to date but any idea of the age period?

What an amazing-looking find and in great condition too.

I'd definitely be hanging a find like that in our living room... ok maybe not. :laughing7:

I have no idea what make or date this plow is, but one of the guys here will know.

That is an old one. It looks like the frame is broke. That happened to a lot of them. The torque pulling threw the the earth and than catching the tip on a rock or something like. I’m sure it was hung under a wood beam. If you look up on www you will get a better description of the parts but yours has everything included, the land slide, frog and share are not replaceable to the moldboard. It is solid black smithed part on yours.

Good find! Those are very rare. It is the front plow from a two plow beam plow. The only info I have on one is an 1861 Michigan Double Plow. I think your plow may be older. I hope my pics work.
