I received permission to detect a patch of woods that used to the a park to a town that lost to its bigger rival for existence. The town sat south of the park. It is now a wooded area near the river. I did find the old outdoor theater foundation. Had one of the best detecting days so far!! First time detecting in the woods too believe it or not. The woods protected me from the elements more than I realized. Not too bad digging the floor with the Predator. Cut right through the roots. I hope to return tomorrow if the snow and colder temps aren't too bad.

o.man,to have a day like that.those are all cool coins.
good job brad

Nice going. Seated and big silver are two of my favorite finds. I also find lots of Indians, but still love finding them.

Must be the name!
Good thinking on the site, congrats on some great finds, now get out there and dig up some more!

Thanks! I am having my breakfast and looking at out at the snow. It's very, very almost dangerous, 22f. I thought about getting hand warmers for my boots. And, maybe just keep the site for another day and enjoy the wood stove with a cup of coffee and good book....

Congrats on an impressive set of finds. I am a "coin guy", and you got a really nice hand full of old coins there.

All those IHCs and V nickels... there are bound to be Barber and more seated coins there.

Best of luck, and I look forward to your next installment!

Great batch of finds Blueblood. I love detecting in the woods. As you found out, there are some great coins between those trees.

I know how your feeling right now. Ive got a dream spot myself and the weather is just not cooperating. Just getting out in winter is a bonus I guess. Nice work

Great site, great finds, should be plenty more

Great Finds . Can't wait to see what else you bring out. Keep posting

Thanks Tom! I found my motivation from a guy named Glen over at Treasure hunting depot. The motivation is the paragraph at the very bottom of the page. Very, very true and I subscribe to the entire thought. I am going to head out this morning...I just have too! Ha!Winter Metal Detecting Gear - Treasure Hunter Depot

I don't blame you one bit for heading out! Regular people don't understand that drive that motivates us. If there is a reasonable chance of finding something good, very few things will get in the way of the pursuit. Best of luck to you!
