So for the last 2 months I've been working on cleaning out and detecting around two sections of the old bridge I found in the river. It's the old town bridge or broadway bridge, it's right underneath the new bridge. The old town mill which was right on the river next to the bridge burned down in the early 1900's, I find stuff from that all the time. I go down with a snorkel and swing the coil around a few times, visibility is bad sometimes because the bridge blocks a lot of the sunlight and the sediment. I've found a few keepers but there is so much iron in situ, it's hard to find the good targets. Here are two photos from my last trip, I know that they are kinda bad, but just wanted to share my progress. 72918 004.JPG72918 005.JPG

Last night when I went, I finished up surveying one of the spots and went downstream a bit, found a bent up copper spoon, I assume it was plated at one time but just wore off. I put it in my finds pouch and cinched the top (or so I thought) got to the shore and checked my gear before heading home and it was gone. Well thanks for stopping by.
