Decided to give my usual spot a break for a bit cause I am really tired of scratching the poison ivy rashes...:) I have been using the historic aerials website to scout the areas around me for old house sites in the woods and today it paid off!!! The old maps are from 1943 but they are very accurate. I found all this stuff in about 2 hours of digging, there are a lot of soda cans and trash closer to the main road but towards the back of the semi clear area in the woods I was finding 1700's era plantation hoes which were a very good sign. The weird thing I have noticed lately about my new Deus settings is that a lot of the big iron is ringing up in the 80's.....digging everything pays off!! I'm not sure how old the buckle with the forked tongue is but it is in fantastic shape. The big stirrup looking thing is maybe the step to a horse buggy or something?? Anyways, just wanted to share my finds and you all ought to try historic aerials website to find places near you. :) HH!! 20160821_194850.jpg20160821_195020.jpg20160821_195014.jpg20160821_195009.jpg20160821_194959.jpg20160821_194952.jpg20160821_194942.jpg20160821_194933.jpg20160821_194929.jpg20160821_194925.jpg20160821_194915.jpg20160821_194910.jpg20160821_194900.jpg20160821_195027.jpg

Looks like you found a real winner of a location. Congrats on the research

You do know what you have there right? Awesome hunt dude, congrats.

Excellent relics. If that is two hours you have probably got yourself a great honey hole. Congratulations on the research paying off.

Glad to see your research paying off. Congrats!

Way to go-isn't it great when all the research and scouting finally pays off like that? I'd hit that one hard-you've probably just scratched the surface (no pun intended). Congrats!
