re-do on attachments... sorry for the inconvenience.

eh, just rethunk, is copper no doubt...duh~~

Found this toasty today...just gave it a water bath and would like to know if anyone can make out anything about the coin. Pretty sure it's silver it passes the magnet test, I have not tested it with acid or anything. Anyway this came from a very old area around as old as the early 1600s. It does have a raised area on the one side for sure, and I can make out a raised image but just hoping some of you guys that have found coins like this might know.

Any help appreciated !!

Thanks!!

Yeah, you beat me to the punch so I'll give you that for a fact it is not silver probably but copper of course I did change this before you had posted but anyway it is what it is. Don't know why the first two images aren't opening but I suppose being on one half of gigabyte here in Newfoundland Northeast on top of that things go A bit askew. Thanks !!

I also think it is King Louis XVI but I think the reverse may be for a 1 Sol coin. Here's a comparison-

That's some awesome comparison work....lots of help on this coin.

Today I will measure and weigh the coin if I get the time.

Thanks for you effort...:notworthy:

Just for the heck of it, here are some specks on "Toasty"

27.38 across

10.4 grams weight

I will check this against the samples given.
