I found this between the sidewalk and curb. Looks like a valve stem cover and is threaded. Kind of fancy looking with the letters BPS on it.

Were the valve stem covers decorative in the past, or maybe this something else?

It would depend on what the diameter was of the internal fitting, but it could be a tyre valve cap.:thumbsup:

I think this is an aluminum cap from a medicine bottle, perfume, or similar. c. 1920s or 30s. I've dug some larger sized ones with a logo or interlocking letters on them.

That was my first thought - Perfume flacon cap.

Thanks for all the responses. I thought it is probably a little too fancy for a tire stem but not sure. I was thinking it could be a screw top for an older patent medicine or pharmacy item but has a pretty narrow diameter.

Gotta love the hobby never sure what you'll dig up.
