old thermostat from????

Found this old thermostat yesterday but don't know if it is from machinery or home heating..Does anyone know? Also possible date range. It is 2 3/4" long. 1 5/8" dia. Says to radiator and also 10 0 165.

Those are called inline thermostats.
Some 30s-40s cars had that type.
