This was from my finds on Thanksgiving morning....looks to be copper and reads "NIKOENIG" across the top with a name stamped across the center that reads "A. MANN"..then the #70.
In what language? König in German means "king," and the umlaut is commonly transiliterated as "oe." König could also very easily be a town name over there. "Mann" is a common German and Austrian surname. My hunch is that it is of European origin--specifically Germany or Austria. As far as purpose or function, I have no clue.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........ The mystery gets more intense...probably is a town name. The railroad went through my town...maybe came from a passenger's trunk?
