Hoping someone could tell me what type of table this is. Would it be considered a harvest table? It appears to be very old. I haven't found any markings as to a maker. The dimensions are 100" when using the extension and 57" without and is 36" wide and 30" tall. Does anyone know what sort of wood this might be. Is the "checker" design anything special?

Maybe a table for playing cards - like bridge or poker . Nice find !

I agree, more of a game table. Not sure from the pictures but appears to be Maple.....age, perhaps early 20th century

You can get an idea of the age by looking underneath to see how it's put together..... What kind of screws, if any, and how the legs were attached can be a good indicator of age.

I agree with NOLA_Ken. A picture of the underneath is needed as well as a close up of the fasteners and hinge. Is there any writing, stamped company names underneath. Is the wood Veneered? To me it looks like 1960's.

This table does look to be 20th century could you post a picture of the bottom the hardware will help age it. And could you get a close up on turns of the legs of the table. I'm a cabinet maker and I restore antique furniture for a living. Don't see to much furniture on this site.
