during the napoleon era, the french began engraving battles, honors,., ect on their blades, to honor the veterans of the battles...over time those swords and bayonets ended up in other hands, and the market...

basic officer issue, decent condition can bring from 250. up...
they are not the most popular of swords, though i do like the steel used in some of those blades, turns nice an black.

a pic showing the entire blade and scabbard would help identification. cav, infantry, artillery, naval?
so many questions...sorry.

u can see the blade now, its duble edge. im goin to have to get it out of my safe and try to put what it says on the blade.

Don't try to transcribe what it says on the whole blade, just post a series of photos for goodness sake. One after another, left to right down the length of the blade. C'mon.
