hello i have another couple items i need help with information on. first i have an old sword i would like to find information on as i cannot find anything on it. the second is a necklace which i believe is not that old but would like to know if anyone knows anything about it. thanks 20160907_073218.webp20160907_073205.webp20160907_073210.webp20160907_073224.webp20160907_072054.webp20160907_072059.webp20160907_072105.webp

There should be some marks stamped into the blade near the grip. A picture of the marks would help in getting an ID.

Well here is my "stab" at it :laughing7:

That appears to be a 1796 Pattern British light Calvary sword. Part of the hand-guard looks like it may have been broken off? (I couldn't zoom in close enough so that is a guess on my part.) I'll see if I can nail down any specifics. It is a very nice find indeed.

WAR OF 1812 PERIOD US MILITIA CAVALRY OFFICER'S SWORD (this one looks a little familiar also)

thank you and yes i think someone actually cut the hand guard off because it is pretty clean cut i got this one with a british pattern 1853 sword which i have already sold this is also the same place i picked up a pair of antique indian moccasins for $1 also sold those for $420 so this sword owes me nothing but would like info about it if possible. what do you think the handle is made of? it looks like bone but not sure.
