Hi...

Found this at a old park here in northern California a few days ago on a quick hunt... about 10 inches down with the deus... it's about 2 inches long.. kind of curious what you guys think it would be used For and how old it is...

Deus settings I was using.
9 inch LF coil
12khz
Full tones
Disc -2.5
Sens 96
Reactivity 2
Silencer -1
Iron volume 0
Tx power 2
Audio response 5
No notch
Xy screen
ID norm on
Manual ground balance

Deus was pretty quiet at 96 sens... alittle chatter here and there but nothing crazy... was a nice repeatable signal with no vdi numbers...

It's the key to a lost treasure chest! How you just have to find the chest! Very nice.

Hahaha... your absolutely right I need to find that chest with a bunch of gold coins in it...

Found out it's a pocket door key... Not sure how old it is though... anyone want to take a guess...lol.. maybe late 1800s?

That seems reasonable. Pocket doors were popular during the Victorian Era, which was northern California’s heyday. In addition they were still using skeleton keys at that time.

Yeah that's what I was thinking to... either way its a cool find for hunting a local park... one of my better relics found in cali while park hunting... besides gold mining camp relics like old gold pans, pick heads, buckles, buttons, lantern parts in gold country...

Thank you huntindog... appreciate it...

First one I ever see. Nice save dude.:icon_thumright:

GOD Bless

Awesome find! I love old keys!

The dead giveaway is that there are no relief cuts in the key. A lock in name only. Enough to keep maids or kids out of the room if needed. Or to keep someone from walking in on you in the bathroom. Haha.
