I was recently checking out my collection, when I came across a ring I got a while back from my grandfather. It was hidden with some forien coins. I always wondered just how old it is and what style it is. I have not been able to find anything else like it. I believe the stone is amber, but not 100% sure, it is obviously a womens ring, aprox the size of a quater. It is 925 and has a symple beside the 925 of something that resembles a horseshoe or magnet.it weighs 7.8 g. Any ideas? Any thoughts would be helpful. And thank you all for your replies ahead of time

Beautiful old ring.
Definitely not amber. Amber isn't a stone and it would not be faceted/shaped by the jeweller like this. I think the stone is a Smoky Topaz.
I would pick an age around late 1800's

As usual, I look forward to learning from the more experienced.

If you can't photograph the mark on the ring, p'26, can you draw it for us? Please ;D

A ring the size of a quarter is a big woman! You better watch out, she probably has a rolling pin too!

smoky topaz or quartz -- thinking 1850 to 1900 time frame as far as styling goes (victorian styling)

Alot of Czechoslovakian cut glass was used during that time and made in a similar color, among others. The color density looks light to me for topaz. IMO. Density test will ID the stone.
