Went up north today and found this along an old cart path. It was only an inch deep. There is a "C" underneath the bust along with "...LMVS" on the left and "III" on the right. The backside is completely toast. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like a William III something. Got a photo of it with a common coin for scale?

It's a Carolus III reale. Can't tell what denomination without a scale reference

GVLIELMVS is Latin for William.

jude061 thank you for that link. You nailed it with the ID of a William III sixpence. I know nothing about these foreign coins so thank you all for the help

Great find it's only the 3rd one I have seen found in Mass.I think the early English silver finds are as rare as tree coins.

Sorry this coin didn't get more attention, this is a great find in New England, Some my disagree with me but i think English coins of this era found in the north east are as rare as Mass tree coins.

I have found a lot of William 111 sixpences, and shillings. Only one has ever had a mint mark..York and that was on a shilling, so quite a rare find for over there.
