my brother and i went out again this morning. first to a park that i picked out, but my brother didn't like it and he wanted to go back to somewhere he was comfortable......... the old school that i have hunted 1000 times! ::) i cant believe there is anything left at this school since i know I'm not the only guy who has pounded it (and i have pounded it!), but to my surprise, once again, it produced a couple of keepers. my first hit was a 53 Wheatie, and i came up with this 44d merc. i also found an old metal toy airplane probably from the late 50s early 60s, and what looks like a homemade dinosaur made by someone messing around with a welding machine. i would post pics of the toys, but they don't scan very well. :'( i also got about $1.80 in clad. my brother found a dollar in clad. any time i find silver im happy, so i guess trudging through the humidity this morning was well worth it. we might go again tommorrow, if we do i will let you all know what we find! ;)

Way to go Red! Sounds like you and your brother are having a great time!

Love the merc!

;)

Nice Merc,

It's amazing how stuff gets missed or it turns up from rain or growth.

thanks for the replies everyone. shortz, the school was built in the 20s or 30s, but was remodeled in the 80s so it doesnt look all that old. i had no idea it was old until i went there to hunt one day and started pulling up wheaties! this school has produced a lot of finds over the last year, and its amazing to me that they still keep coming!my brother said to me.." i like this place cause it doesnt have a lot of trash", i told him THATS CAUSE IVE DUG IT ALL OUT OF THE WAY ALREADY! ;D (he is new to detecting).
