Went back to the 1800s school this morning before it started raining . Found my first ever Half cent a 1804 . My first ever old Canadian coin, a 1870 five cent piece . And a 1934 Merc . I still have 25% of the ball field to detect so who knows what treasures are hiding there for me .:laughing7::laughing7: 100_0403.JPG101_0212.JPG101_0214.JPG101_0222.JPG101_0280.JPG101_0281.JPG

Sweet diggin nice spot ya got there

Nice !

Then you must re-detect once you complete the field!!! Lol

-Lady Liberty is hot stuff...especially on a coin

that's nice diggings right there !!! Did you find this place through research or is it just an older site in your town?

I found the foundation of an old school from the early 1800's, in the woods this past spring. I was looking for old places in my area and found it on an old map online and went looking for it. I haven't detected it yet, have to wait until the vegetation dies out a little bit. I was pretty pumped up just finding the foundation after seeing it on an old map.

Congrats on those old coins. That 1870 fishscale was the first year that was minted in that style I believe also it was minted in England rather than Canada believe it or not so it's been on quite a little journey. The half cent is something that has evaded me in all my years of detecting. That's a great spot that you are on to.

I have known of this place for a few years , but it took a chance meeting to obtain permission to hunt it.

Great finds 46Wheat. Those half cents don't show up every day. Always a great hunt when a half cent surfaces. :occasion14:
