I have not been able to get out in a long time. Sunday I was able to sneak out to an old school spot that I have dug on before. I was not happy to see that the old ball field had not been cut this year but it allowed me to focus more on the areas closer to the old school. It was a nice evening of digging out a few keepers. I had a couple of guys stop and talk about detecting with me and said they have not had much luck finding any silver on their spots. They had just left when I got a perfect 12-47 signal showing deep on the Etrac. I dug a nice deep hole and quickly saw a silver rim peeking out of a coin ball. I cracked it open to reveal a nice SLQ with a date. It has been a while since I've dug an SLQ and was a nice surprise. This hunt helped me scratch my itch but now all I can think about is getting back out. HH-David

Nice slq, most lose their date when circulated

Nice finds! But if you used a pinpointer, then it's not "old school" hunting :laughing7:

Professional level photography right there and some nice coins!

Thanks! I enjoy taking pics and documenting my finds as much as doing research and detecting. Very rewarding hobby.

Thanks. Yeah I haven't found very many SLQ's with a date. Most are pretty worn but still fun to find.

Ha! I see what you did there. Guess I will have to dust off the dowsing rods and go real old school.

Beautiful looking full date Standing Liberty Quarter! I like the way you can even see the impression of it in the soil!
The other coins in attendance are not too shabby either...

Thanks Wildcat! Always enjoy seeing the coin impression left behind.
